Bihar storm claims 32 lives, Rajnath assures central help

Patna, Apr 22 (IBNS): At least thirty-two people were killed and over 80 were injured as a nor'wester hit several Bihar districts on Tuesday night, reports said.
The storm destroyed thousands of huts and standing crops.
 
Districts of Purnia, Madhepura, Saharsa, Madhubani, Samastipur, Darbhanga and Samastipur were badly hit by the storm.
 
The storm left several thousand trees uprooted and damaged power lines.
 
Road transport in those affcted districts were also hit in the aftermath of the storm, said reports.
 
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted: "Spoke to Bihar CM Shri Nitish Kumar who apprised me of the situation after the storm in three districts of the state."
 
"Shri Kumar is visiting the storm affected areas to take stock of the situation. The Centre has assured the state of all possible help," he said.
