BJP and Congress candidates file nomination for Assam by-election

Guwahati: BJP candidate Bijay Malakar on Monday filed his nomination for the by-election from Ratabari assembly constituency in Assam’s Karimganj district.

The BJP candidate came to the District Commissioner office in Karimganj district with a procession and filed his nominations before the returning officer.

He was accompanied by Assam forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Assam state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, BJP MP Kripanath Mallah.

On the other hand, Congress candidate Keshab Prasad Rajak also filed his nomination for the by-election from Ratabari assembly seat.

The by-elections in the Ratabari (SC), Jania, Rangapara and Sonari assembly constituencies of Assam will be held on Oct 21.

On the other hand, BJP candidate Rajen Borthakur also filed his nomination for Rangapara by-poll.

The BJP candidate was accompanied by Assam finance minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and MP Pallab Lochan Das.
