Godda, May 19 (UNI) BJP candidate from Godda Lok Sabha seat Nishikant Dubey today accused the JVM(P) supporters of being involved in man-handling with him while he was trying to get inside one of the polling booths in Poriyahaat.

Dubey alongwith his supporters was on a round in the area when he reached at the polling booth at Pasai where he was alleged man-handled by the supporters of the JVM(P). The policemen accompanying the BJP leader and the security personnel at the polling booths later intervened into the situation to cool off the tension between the two sides.

Nishikant Dubey is locked in an intense battle with Mahagathbandhan nominee Pradeep Yadav on the Godda Lok Sabha seat. Dubey had won from the seat in 2009 and 2014 and is looking for a hatrick from the constituency.

Meanwhile, yesterday a case of model code of violation was registered at the Kunda Police Station area of the Deoghar district against Mr Dubey for making objectionable remarks during the Vijay Sankalp Rally which was organised on May 15. On May 16, the assistant electoral officer cum SDO had also issued a notice to Mr Dubey in this regard.
