Patna, Nov 24 (IBNS): A senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was allegedly shot dead by unidentified men in Bihar's Siwan district on Sunday night, police said.
The victim, Srikant Bharti, was returning home riding a bike after attending a marriage function, when his assailants targeted him from another bike.

Bharti was shot at his head, reports said.

He was then taken to the Sadar hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The incident has resulted in massive protests in the state on Monday by local BJP leaders.

Bharti had contested the 2010 State Assembly polls but lost.
