BJP leader with wife, son killed

Khunti, Jul 23 (UNI) A local BJP leader along with his wife and son were killed by an identified assailants in Hethegowa village under Murhu police station area of this district.

The deceased BJP leader has been identified as Mago Munda who was a member of the state working committee of the ST morcha of the party along with that he was also the vice president of the Murhu block level 20 point programme implementation committee.


Police today said that late last night 5 to 6 unidentified men equipped with arms on three bikes reached the village and entered into the house of Mago Munda and attack him with a sharp-edged weapon due to which he died on the spot.


Later the assailants shot dead his wife Lakhimoney and son Lipirai. Though Lipirai died on the spot the woman succumbed to her injuries while being rushed to the hospital. Another woman who lived in the neighbourhood has also sustained bullet wounds and has been admitted at Sadar Hospital.
Upon receiving information senior police officers had rushed to the spot.
