BJP protest in front of Sonia house against Batla House remarks

| | May 30, 2016, at 08:52 pm
New Delhi, May 30 (IBNS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday gathered in front of Congress President Sonia Gandhi's house to protest against the Congress statement regarding the Batla House incident, media reported.
BJP alleged that Congress leaders are spreading falsehoods about the incident. They wanted the Congress to apologise.

The Batla House case refers to an encounter that occurred in September 2008 where two suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists and a police officer were killed, according to media reports.

A week ago, Digvijay Singh, Congress General Secretary, said that the Batla House encounter was fake and the Union government must hold a judicial inquiry.

BJP is banking on a 22-minute video footage, allegedly an ISIS propaganda video, in which five people were shown, and one of them is believed to be a suspected terrorist who fled Batla House when the police raided it.

The Congress has demanded that the video footage be verified first, media reported.
