BJP releases list of 177 candidates for Madhya Pradesh polls

New Delhi, Nov 2 (IBNS) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday  released a list of 177 candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh state election,scheduled to be held on November 28.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will contest from the Budhni constituency in Sehore district, which he been representing since 2005.

There are 230 constituencies in the state for which elections will be held.

Along with Chouhan, top leaders like Narottam Mishra, Yashodhara Raje Scindia and others are also on the first list of candidates.  Scindia will contest from Shivpuri and Mishra  from Datia.

The names were finalised during the meeting of BJP’s Central Election Committee, chaired by party president Amit Shah. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the meeting. BJP has been in power in Madhya Pradesh since 2008. The state has a total of 230 seats.

The party also released a list of  28 candidates for the state elections in Mizoram  and another of 24 for Telangana. While Mizoram goes to the poll on November 28, elections will be held in Telengana on December 7.
