BJP-Shiv Sena takes big lead in Maharashtra, Congress eyes chance in Haryana

Mumbai/Chandigarh/IBNS: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiv Sena have taken a big lead in Maharashtra while a tight contest between the saffron party and Congress-NCP is in the play in Haryana as the poll results are coming out on Thursday.

In Maharashtra, the BJP and Shiv Sena are ahead in 157 seats as opposed to Congress-NCP alliance's 93, India Today reported.

In Haryana, the BJP is ahead in 38 seats as opposed to Congress' 31.

The assembly polls in both the states were held on Monday.
