BJP slams Rahul Gandhi online for his 'New India' tweet on dog squad of the Indian Army performing yoga

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Rahul Gandhi should remember that these dogs are members of the Indian Army.

"With due respect to you, @RahulGandhi Ji, these are proud members of the Indian Army and they contribute to the safety of our nation. जब कोई बार-बार हमारी सेना का अपमान करता है तो यही प्रार्थना की जा सकती है कि हे भगवान सद्बुद्धि दे!," Singh tweeted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah slammed Gandhi and said the Congress party stood for 'negativity'.

"Congress stands for negativity. Today, their negativity was seen in their clear support to the medieval practice of Triple Talaq. Now, they mock Yoga Day and insult our forces (yet again!) Hoping the spirit of positivity will prevail. It can help overcome toughest challenges," Shah said.

Sambit Patra, BJP leader, tweeted: " but Same/Shame Rahul..disrespects India..India’s tradition..India’s Army ..@RahulGandhi ji ..every Dog is not just a PIDI who tweets only for the Gandhi family Scion These are just not Dogs Sir ..they are those who fight for OUR INDIA ..Salute them!!."

In a sarcastic response to his critics, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi in 2017 posted a short video of his pet dog and put an end to 'who' manages his social media accounts. 

"Ppl been asking who tweets for this guy..I'm coming clean..it's me..Pidi..I'm way than him. Look what I can do with a tweet..oops..treat!," Gandhi's official Twitter handle posted along with the video of the pet dog Pidi.

The Bharatiya Janata Party attacked Gandhi and said: "Truly a New India Even the dogs are displaying their skills & here you are still evolving to become human."

BJP leader Paresh Rawal attacked Gandhi and said even dogs are 'smarter' than him.

" Yes it’s a NEW INDIA Rahul ji where even dogs are smarter than you . @RahulGandhi," Rawal, who is also a popular Bollywood actor, tweeted.

Rahul Gandhi shared an image of the dog squad of the Indian Army performing yoga and called it 'New India'.

The tweet was made apparently to take a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on International Yoga Day. 

The images posted by him showed the Army dog unit and their trainers prostrating.

India led the world in celebration World Yoga Day on Friday.
