Bomb threat to Mysuru Palace turns out to be hoax

Mysuru, May 14 (UNI) Tension prevailed at the world famous Mysuru Palace with security persons were sent in a tizzy on Tuesday after receiving a bomb threat call which later turned out to be a hoax.

An unknown person claiming to have planted a bomb inside the Palace called 9.30am resulting every one in a State of confusion. The police officials rushed to the spot with bomb disposal and dog squad and conducted search for more than three hours and came to conclusion that it was a hoax call as nothing was found.


Police are trying to trace the call. They are also trying to verify if the caller was trying to take the police for a ride.


The Palace is must see tourist destination in the country after Taj Mahal and nearly 3.5 million people visit every year.


Following the terrorist attacks on churches on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka, a high security alert has been sounded in Karnataka and the cops have been guarding all the entry points to the Palace and the visitors are being thoroughly checked.
