Mumbai/IBNS: BookMyShow co-founder and chief executive officer Ashish Hemrajani has been summoned over the alleged black marketing of tickets sold for the much-anticipated concert of British rock band Coldplay, media reports said.

The concert is scheduled to be held at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on January 19-21, 2025.

Amit Vyas, an advocate, filed a complaint with Mumbai Police alleging Coldplay's India tour tickets, whose original price was Rs. 2,500, were sold at an exorbitant amount of Rs. 3 lakh through third parties and influencers.

Vyas has sought a case to be registered against the company on charges of fraud.

The Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing has initiated a probe. Vyas' statement has already been recorded.

On September 22, BookMyShow's website crashed when the sale of tickets for Coldplay's India tour began revealing the huge excitement of the fans for the concert.

Amid the massive excitement, the rock band, which is returning to India after 8 years, announced a third show to the Mumbai tour.
