BSF seizes 595 Yaba tablets from Indo- Bangladesh bordering area
Guwahati/IBNS: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, 62 Bn BSF under the aegis of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force carried out a specific information based operation and seized 595 Yaba tablets on Sunday from Indo-Bangladesh bordering area.
Based on a specific input about transhipment of Yaba tablets in the inter-state border villages of Assam and West Bengal, BSF troops of Border outpost (BOP) Madhya Balabhut carried out special operation in the general area of Char Balabhut close to Indo-Bangladesh border.
The Special operation party left from BOP Balabhut towards Balabhut ferry point and on seeing the BSF troops the miscreants fled away and the BSF party chased the miscreants but they managed to flee dropping two packets containing 595 numbers of Yaba Tablets on the spot which was recovered by the troops.
Later the seized Yaba tablets were handed over to Tufanganj police station in Coochbehar district.
Keeping in view of the vulnerability of the border, heightened activities of the smugglers and anti-national elements on the border, BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes & illegal infiltration and are making all out efforts to prevent commission of such crimes.
