BSF seizes FICN worth Rs. 9 lakhs

Kolkata, July 17 (IBNS): The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday said that it has foiled a smuggling activity in West Bengal and recovered Rs. nine lakhs from the smugglers.
"Troops of BOP Sasani , Ex-  125 Bn BSF of   Frontier  Headquarter BSF  South Bengal  launched a SPL Operation in the area of  responsibility in Malda  and recovered  worth Rs   09  Lakhs," the BSF said in a statement.  
 
"The counterfeit notes were  found  in a plastic bag and  likely thrown by BD smugglers  into the Indian side over  the border  fence by  taking  advantage  of darkness/ rain," the statement said.
 
The seized FICN are handed over to  Kaliachak Police Station in Malda  for further  legal action .
