CBI to not file chargesheet in Baduan case

| | Aug 26, 2014, at 01:42 am
New Delhi, Aug 25 (IBNS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday said that it will not file any chargesheet against the five accused in the Badaun gangrape and murder case, reports said.
This comes after a  forensic report in the Badaun case has revealed that the DNA of the accused has not been found on the clothes of the victims.

However, they have not been given a clean chit in the case.

Two Dalit minor sisters were allegedly gangraped and then hanged from a tree at Katra village in Badaun district on May 27.

The cousin sisters, aged 14 and 15 respectively, were reportedly missing since May 27 night.

Following the incident, five accused were arrested by UP Police - Pappu, Awadhesh and Urvesh Yadav (all three brothers) and constables Chhatrapal Yadav and Sarvesh Yadav.

They can now get bail as they have completed their 90 days in custody.

Earlier this month, the accused were found to be true in stating that they were not involved in the gangrape.

The CBI had said that a lie-detection test carried on the five accused arrested in connection with the Badaun case did not find "any deviation" from their earlier claim of innocence.
