Centre: Students will not have to take Sanskrit exam this year
The Centre said that students of Classes VI to VIII in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools can take German as an optional language. But they don’t have to take an exam in Sanskrit this year as it would be tough.
The top court will take up the case again on Monday.
Earlier, the Apex Court had said that the Centre should put off its decision to introduce Sanskrit as the third language in schools to next year as students would suffer.
“It is difficult for students mid-session,” the court had told the Centre.
A group of 20 parents took the government to court on the issue, reports said.
