Charanjit Singh Channi to be next Punjab Chief Minister, says Congress

Chandigarh/IBNS: Congress declared Charanjit Singh Channi as the next Punjab Chief Minister.

Amid swift developments and high drama, Charanjit Singh Channi, the outgoing Technical Education Minister, has been named as the new Chief Minister of Punjab.

Earlier media had reported that Sukhjinder Randhawa would be the new CM.

Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday resigned as Punjab Chief Minister.

"I feel humiliated by the way talks transpired. I spoke with the Congress president this morning, told them that I will be resigning today," he had after submitting his reignation following a hostile spat between him and Punjab Congress chief Navjot Sidhu in the state unit of the Congress.
