Raipur, Aug 21 (IBNS): Three newborn babies died in a government hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, allegedly for drop in pressure in oxygen supply, according to media reports on Monday.

Chief Minister Raman Singh has ordered a probe into the incident, media reported. State health officials have also rushed to the spot.

According to local sources cited by the media, the operator handling the oxygen supply was found in an inebriated state.

The oxygen pressure dropped in the special care unit where the babies were undergoing treatment, which led to the deaths.

According to hospital sources, doctors on duty immediately raised an alarm and the situation was brought under control.

Recently, the death of scores of children in a hospital in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, allegedly owing to lack of oxygen supply, had taken the nation by storm.
