Beijing/IBNS: Eight months after the deadly fight in the border, China on Friday admitted that its five officers and one soldier were killed during the clash with the Indian personnel at the Galwan valley in Ladakh, media reports said.

The five soldiers were honoured by the Chinese leadership, reported the official newspaper of the Chinese military, PLA Daily.

The killed included Qi Fabao, the regimental commander from the PLA Xinjiang Military Command, Chen Hongjun, Chen Xiangrong, Xiao Siyuan and Wang Zhuoran, reported Global Times.

This is the first unveiling of the casualties on the part of China following the clash which took place in Jun 2020.

In the first deadly clash since 1962 Indo-Sino war, at least 20 Indian personnel were martyred in the clash.

The two Asian giants are clashing at the border for close to a year though a deescalation process is underway.

The de-escalation process is underway along the Pangong Lake in Ladakh.
