China welcomes Indian Foreign Secretary's visit to Pakistan

Beijing, Mar 5 (IBNS): China on Thursday welcomed Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar's visit to Pakistan and called it 'positive signs' which showed the improvement of bilateral relations between the two nations.

"Both India and Pakistan are significant countries in South Asia. We welcome the positive signs showing the improvement of bilateral relations which we believe are of paramount importance to peace, stability and development of this region," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.

"The Chinese side will support the two sides in properly resolving relevant disputes through peaceful dialogue and improving bilateral relations as we always do," she said.

The comments were made at a time when Indian  Foreign secretary S Jaishankar visited Pakistan and met top officials in the country.
