Cong MLA Banwari Lal Sharma passes away at 61

Bhopal/UNI: Congress MLA from Morena district Banwari Lal Sharma passed away after a prolonged illness in the wee hours on Saturday.

He was 61.

Sharma was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here for a long time.

He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.

His last rites will be performed at his ancestral Jalthaap village in Morena district.

Sharma became an MLA from Jaura Assembly seat in Morena district after defeating BSP candidate in the 2018 Assembly polls.

Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia expressed grief over Sharma's demise.

"My deepest condolences on the sad demise of Banwari Lal Sharma, Congress MLA from Jaura-Morena. I pray to god to give peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss" Scindia posted on Twitter.
