Cop assaulted in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IBNS) A group of men attacked a Delhi Police ACP close to the Lodhi Crematorium in south Delhi on Thursday, media reports said.

The victim was identified as Amit Singh. He is reportedly  posted with the anti-terror unit.

According to reports, Singh was on his way to a special cell office located in Lodhi Colony when the incident occurred at around 4:30 pm.

"Witnesses said there was an accident and a quarrel had ensued between a biker and a car driver on the road. The ACP who was crossing the stretch stopped and intervened after which the groups went after him," The Times of India reported.

Singh was taken to  AIIMS Trauma Centre following the attack.

An FIR has been registered in connection with the matter.
