Cop slapping: Court issues arrest warrant against TMC MP Prasun Banerjee

| | Jul 04, 2015, at 07:03 am
Kolkata, Jul 3 (IBNS): The Bidhannagar Court in West Bengal on Friday issued an arrest warrant against Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP Prasun Banerjee in the cop-slapping case.

TMC MP Prasun Banerjee on Jan 14 had allegedly slapped a traffic constable for prohibiting his car from driving along the wrong lane at Lake Town area in Kolkata.

A case was lodged against  Banerjee on Jan 15.

Since the MP did not attend the court on the previous hearing days, the judge of Bidhannaga ACJM Court Apurba Kumar Ghosh on Friday directed the police to arrest Prasun Banerjee and  produce him before the court before July 17.
