New Delhi/IBNS: In a bid to avoid spreading Coronavirus in India, which has already left 114 people infected in the country, authorities will close the iconic Taj Mahal for the general public from Tuesday.

Two people died due to Coronavirus infection in India so far.

In his tweet, Union Tourism and Culture Minister Prahlad Patel on Monday said that all ticketed monuments and all other museums have been directed to be closed until Mar 31.

Prahlad Patel told The Indian Express, “All ASI-protected monuments and all central museums are being closed with immediate effect in the wake of Covid-19 situation. An order in this regard is being issued soon.”

Taj Mahal attracts international guests in a large number every day.

Recently, US President Donald Trump visited the iconic monument with his family members during their visit to India.
