New Delhi, Nov 4 (UNI) A CPI(M) delegation on Monday visited Tis Hazari Court, in the national capital, in solidarity with the advocates who are on strike demanding action against the police officers responsible for the violence inside the court premises on November 2.

The delegation, led by party's Polit Bureau Member Brinda Karat and comprising Delhi state secretary K M Tiwari and state secretariat members Nathu Prasad and Brijesh Kumar Singh, condemned the attack.

"Delhi State Committee of CPI (M) condemns the wide scale violence perpetrated by Delhi Police against the lawyers in which lawyers’ chambers have been destroyed and even women lawyers have been injured", the party said in a statement.

In a statement, the party alleged that police unleashed brutal lathicharge and fired several rounds of bullets against the advocates.

"Delhi Police comes directly under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Central Government and Union Home Minister must intervene in the matter and ensure that action is taken against the police officials responsible for this unprecedented violence", the CP(M) demanded.

On Saturday, a clash took place between police and advocates in the court premises and several people were injured.
