Srinagar, July 26 (IBNS): Curfew has been lifted in Srinagar after almost 17 days in trouble-torn Jammu and Kashmir where many died in recent violence in the aftermath of the killing of Hizb Commander and militancy poster boy Burhan Wani by Indian security forces, reports said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a terrorist was caught alive near the Line of Control at Kupwara on Tuesday with the Indian authorities calling it as a big achievement.

In the encounter four Pakistani terrorists were killed.

"It's a big achievement to catch a terrorist alive and the truth of Pakistan will come to the fore," commented Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju.

Earlier, authorities on Monday imposed strict curfew across  the Kashmir Valley to foil "Islamabad Chalo" call by Kashmir separatists groups in wake of the killing of local Hizb Commander Burhan Wani in the state.

Kashmir separatist leaders have been detained.
