Customs officials in Mumbai seize huge amount of cash in foreign exchange and new notes

Mumbai, Dec 28 (IBNS): Mumbai customs, on Wednesday, seized cash totaling around Rs 69 lakh in two separate cases, according to media reports.

Both incidents occurred at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and four people have been detained.

In one of the instances, foreign currency worth more than rupees forty lakhs was seized from three people who arrived in Mumbai early on Wednesday morning from Hyderabad, media reported.

In the other incident, a Dubai-bound passenger was detained after he was found in possession of rupees 25 lakhs in new rupees two thousand currency notes, according to media reports.
