New Delhi, Oct 2 (IBNS): Heeding to the clarion call by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill the dream of Mahatma Gandhi of a Swachh Bharat (Clean India), the Ministry of Defence started the Swachhta drive here on Thursday.
The ambitious drive begun with the Swachhta Pledge being administered by the Secretary (Defence Production) G Mohan Kumar to all officers and staff of the Ministry at South Block.

The event saw the spontaneous participation of officers right from the Secretary level to Multi-Tasking Staff of the Ministry.

Later, the Secretary (Defence Production) led the entire employees in cleaning one corridor of the South Block with the help of brooms and dusters.

Taking a cue from that the rest of the employees went back to their respective sections and started the cleanliness drive with full zeal and vigour.

This programme was followed by a tree plantation drive in the South Block premises where senior officers participated by planting several tree saplings to realise the dream of a green and clean environment.
