Delhi govt bans purchase of new vehicles for officials

New Delhi, Nov 23 (IBNS): The Delhi government has banned the purchase of new vehicles by for all officials, including those of civic bodies in the city, media reports said.
The ban will be followed until the old vehicles complete their required life cycles.
 
Officials will not be able to purchase new vehicles costing up to Rs 4.75 lakh.
 
The order  is applicable to all government departments, the three municipal corporations of Delhi (MCDs) and the New Delhi Municipal Council.
 
New vehicle can be purchased only through DGS&D (Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals) rate contract mode.
