Delhi HC refuses to stay DCW summon on Kumar Vishwas over alleged illicit relationship

New Delhi, May 15 (IBNS): In a setback for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kumar Vishwas, the Delhi High Court on Friday refused to stay a summons issued to him by the Delhi Commission for Women over charges of an alleged illicit relationship made by a female party member against him, reports said.

The commission had summoned Vishwas and his wife to appear before it on the AAP volunteer's complaint.

The woman had alleged that her reputation was damaged and her husband abandoned her after rumours came to fore that she had an affair with Vishwas while campaigning for him in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, for the general elections.

She reportedly said that despite her repeated requests, Vishwas did not make any public denial.

However, Vishwas had earlier told media that he had no such relations with any female member of his party.

"All these allegations are false. I have no such relation with any woman," Vishwas had said.

The Congress party had also demanded an investigation in the matter.
