New Delhi, Aug 11 (IBNS): To ensure that road accident victims in Delhi get immediate medical attention, Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday that the his government is planning to start a scheme under which people, including drivers of taxis and autorickshaws, will be rewarded for taking such victims to hospital, according to media reports.

Early on Thursday morning, a security guard, who also worked as an e-rickshaw driver, bled to death in Delhi's Subhas Nagar area, when he was left unattended by the roadside after being hit by speeding tempo.

A CCTV footage revealed that not only passersby ignored the injured man but a rickshaw driver also stole his mobile phone which was lying nearby.

The man was declared dead when the police finally took him to a hospital after they got news of the accident almost two hours later, local sources said.

According to media reports, the accident victim, Matibool, was from West Bengal.

The minister said that a Cabinet note has been prepared in this regard and the proposal will soon be tabled in the Delhi Cabinet by the end of August and subsequently, it will be sent to the Lt Governor for his final approval to implement the scheme in the national capital, reported The Indian Express.
