Digvijay Singh hits back at Congress, lashes out at Rajnath Singh for meeting Pragya Thakur
New Delhi, Jul 8 (IBNS) : After being castigated by the BJP for sharing dais with controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has hit back at the Government, flaying Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh for ‘meeting’ Pragya Thakur, an accused in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case.
"I am being criticised for sharing stage with Zakir Naik but what about Rajnath Singh ji meeting Bomb Blast accused Pragya Thakur ?," Singh tweeed.
He also asked the ruling party as to what it would say about Sri Sri Ravi Shankar sharing the stage with Zakir.
" Pragya is an accused in Bomb Blast is there a case against Zakir Naik as yet ? What about Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ji sharing stage with Zakir ?," Singh's another tweet said.
The Congress General Secretary came under fire for sharing the same dais with Zakir Naik at an event in 2012 and describing him as a peacemaker. Naik has been under media glare after reports came that two of the terrorists who carried out the recent attack on a popular cafe in Dhaka, were influenced by his speeches.
Defending his act, Digvijay Singh has said that if there is any evidence against the preacher, then the Indian and Bangladeshi governments should take action against him.
