Don't allow anti-social elements to hijack peaceful nature Jallikatu movement: Sri Sri tells people of Tamil Nadu

Bangalore, Jan 23 (IBNS): Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar appealed people of Tamil Nadu to not allow anti-social elements to hijack the peaceful nature of the Jallikattu movement in the state.

"The 6-day peaceful Jallikattu protest is a victory for people of Tamil Nadu.Instead of celebration,unfortunate it's taken a violent turn," the spiritual leader tweeted.

"I appeal to the people of Tamil Nadu to keep calm & not allow anti-social elements to hijack the peaceful nature of the Jallikattu movt," he said.

Violence erupted in various parts of Tamil Nadu, especially in Alanganallur in Madurai, on Monday, when police asked the Jallikattu protesters to disperse.
