'Don't travel by Air India on Nov 19...': Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun's new threat

New Delhi: A fresh video of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has emerged on social media, where he is seen giving a threat to commuters planning to fly via Air India on November 19, warning that their "lives would be in danger", India Today reported.

"We are asking the Sikh people not to fly via Air India on November 19. There will be a global blockade. On November 19, don't travel by Air India or your life will be in danger," Pannun said in the video that surfaced on social media, said the report.

The Khalistani terrorist further claimed that Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport would stop operations on November 19 and the name of the airport would be changed, adding that this was the day on which the final match of the ongoing cricket World Cup would be played, according to the report.

On October 10, Pannun, the leader of the proscribed Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) organisation based in the US, threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take heed of the Israel-Palestine conflict, warning of a similar "response" occurring in India.

"People under illegal occupation from Punjab to Palestine will react. And violence begets violence," he had said in a previous video message.

Pannun, originally from Amritsar, has been under the scrutiny of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) since 2019, when the agency initiated its first case against him.

He is alleged to have played a central role in promoting and orchestrating acts of terrorism, as well as instilling fear and panic in Punjab and various other regions of India through his use of threats and intimidation tactics.

A special NIA court on February 3, 2021, issued non-bailable arrest warrants to nab Pannun and he was declared a "Proclaimed Offender" (PO) on November 29 last year.
