Droupadi Murmu hounours Venkaiah Naidu, Usha Uthup, Mithun Chakraborty with Padma Awards

New Delhi/IBNS: President Droupadi Murmu Monday presented three Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and 55 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2024 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-I held with grandeur in Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, were present at the occasion among others.

After the Investiture Ceremony, Amit Shah and other union ministers interacted with the Padma awardees at a dinner hosted by the Home Minister at his residence in New Delhi.

The Padma Awardees will pay homage at the National War Memorial on Tuesday morning.

They will also visit Rashtrapati Bhawan and  Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya.

The Padma Vibhushan has been awarded to Vyjayantimala Bali, Konidela Chiranjeevi, M Venkaiah Naidu, Bindeshwar Pathak (posthumous), and Padma Subrahmanyam.

BJP leader Ram Naik, singer Usha Uthup and actor Vijaykanth (posthumously) are among the 17 who have been awarded the Padma Bhushan.

The first woman judge of the Supreme Court Chief Justice M Fathima Beevi (posthumous), actor Mithun Chakraborty, and Bombay Samachar owner Hormusji N Cama has been conferred with the Padma Bhushan awardees.
