Encounter breaks in J&K's Poonch district, cop killed

Srinagar, Sept 11 (IBNS): A fresh encounter broke out between security forces and two terrorists which left one policeman killed and another injured in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, reports said.

The encounter started after police received information about the presence of heavily-armed terrorists in an under construction government building.

On receiving the information, the police cordoned around the building.

The terrorists resorted to heavy firing resulting in the death of a policeman and injuries to a sub inspector of the police.

According to reports, the building is close to an army camp.

Following the start of the encounter, Army troops have been rushed in to neutralise the terrorists.

Till last received reports, the gunfight is still on.
