Raipur, Nov 11 (IBNS): A fierce gunfight is underway between security forces and Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Antagarh village after the Maoists triggered at least seven explosions on Sunday, media reports said.

This comes a day before voting for assembly election begins.

Around one lakh security personnel have been deployed in the region for smooth conduct of election as Maoists have asked voters to boycott the same.

The encounter took place at a village in Kanker district,  which is some 175 km from the state capital Raipur.

The Maoists attacked a BSF team who were patrolling the area.

A jawan also received injuries as an IED was exploded during the encounter.

Meanwhile another encounter between security forces and Maoists broke out in Bijapur.

According to reports, the body of a Maoist, clad in a uniform, has been recovered from the encounter site.

Another Maoist has been arrested.

The encounter broke out when a Special Task Force team was out on an anti-Maoist operation.

At least five people, including a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, were killed in a Maoist triggered explosion in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Thursday last. A bus was blown up by the rebels in this Maoist-dominated region causing the deaths.
