Ex-Arunchal CM suicide: State govt orders probe

Guwahati, Aug 9 (IBNS): The Arunachal Pradesh Government on Tuesday ordered a probe into the suicide case of former Chief Minister Kalikho Pul.

Investigating officer R K Jha said that they did not find any suicide note but recovered a diary.

Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh Government has declared a three-day mourning in the state.

Earlier in the day, angry mobs attacked the official residence of Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prema Khandu and torched several vehicles in Itanagar after Pul was found hanging at his official residence on Tuesday morning.

Protesters shouted against the Prema Khandu led state government and blocked roads in Itanagar.

Angry mobs also attacked the house of Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and a minister Tapang Talu and damaged several vehicles parked in the premises.

Tension gripped the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh and army, para military forces were deployed to control the situation.

Kalikho Pul, former CM of Arunachal Pradesh, was found hanging at his official residence on Tuesday morning.
