Ex-President Pranab Mukherjee unveils Bengali version of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib and Babuji's Biography
Kolkata, Feb 8 (IBNS): Bengali version of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib and Babuji's Biography have been released in Kolkata.
Five volumes of the Holy Sikh Book, Shri Guru Granth Sahib in the Bengali language have been released by the makers.
The special occasion was doubly special as the translated volumes were released by the former President and Bharat Ratna, Pranab Mukherjee in the presence of Swami Suparnananda Maharaj ji ,Secreatry of Golpark Ramkrishna Mission, Sardar Tarlochan Singh, member of Rajya Sabha, Former Olympian Sardar Gurbax Singh and other dignitaries .
Speaking at the occasion , Mukherjee expressed his happiness and privilege to be a part of the momentous occasion of the release of 17 years of effort that took four years to finally bring it to publication. With these publication the essence of human consciousness and One creator for all ,that the Granth Saheb speaks of would reach all Bengali homes outside the two Bengals, he stated. Swami Suparnananda Maharaj of the Ramkrishna Mission of Culture, Golpark also spoke about the release as an important milestone as it would now reach all the homes it had not, so far.
On this occasion a biography, “Asardar Sardar-Jodh Singh ki Jivani” , was released on the Founding father of the JIS Group of Educational initiatives. This hard bound book has been written by Shri Dhiraj Sarthak and Dr. Arvind Yadav. Sardar Jodh Singh was an illuminating father figure and started the foundation of an education legacy that is the JIS Group.
Sardar Taranjit Singh, Chancellor, JIS University , Kolkata and Managing Director of the JIS Group expressed profound joy and stated that, “It is an honour and privilege for me to see this day when our Holy book is going to reach all households of my state of West Bengal with this Bengali translation. Also I am immensely proud to see the release of the book of my father who was also the father of the JIS family, late Sardar, Jodh Singh”.
