Explosives found in Falaknuma Express in Howrah

Kolkata, Sept 23 (IBNS): Huge explosives were found in down Falaknuma Express on Wednesday at Howrah railway station near Kolkata, reports said.
At the the time of routine check up in the down Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma EXpress that arrived at platform no 17 on Tuesday night, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) found three bags inside an unreserved compartment.
 
Personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)'s bomb disposal squad reached the spot and recovered five sealed tubes, full
of explosives.

The bags were taken to an isolated place two of the tubes filled with explosives were diffused. Work is on to diffuse the rest of the explosives.
 
A CID  official told IBNS: "These are  low intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in nature. We are suspecting this
explosive-filled tubes might be directional landmines. We will ensure it after the forensic tests."

Police and RPF have started investigation into the matter.

"The CCTV footages of platform 17 will be examined to catch any suspicious movement," one Railway official told IBNS.
