Former Assam Congress president Ripun Bora joins TMC

Kolkata:  Former Assam Congress president Ripun Bora joined the Trinamool Congress on Sunday.

He joined the TMC in the presence of party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

TMC tweeted: "It gives us immense joy to welcome Shri@ripunbora, who joined the @AITCofficial family in the presence of our National General Secretary Shri @abhishekaitc."

Abhishek Banerjee welcomed the Assamese leader to the TMC and tweeted: "Extending a very warm welcome to Shri @ripunbora , a stalwart and skilled politician, who joined the @AITCofficialfamily today.We are extremely pleased to have you onboard and look forward to working together for the well-being of our people!"

Bora joined the TMC a day after the party registered victory in the Asansol Lok Sabha bypoll and Ballygunge state Assembly by-election.
