Former UP, Uttarakhand CM ND Tiwari dies on his 93th birthday

Dehradun, Oct 18 (IBNS): Former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Narayan Datt Tiwari passed away on his 93th birthday on Thursday.

He was suffering from prolonged illness.

Tiwari was a three-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and one-time of Uttarakhand.

Originally from the Praja Socialist Party, Tiwari had later joined the Congress.

Between 1986-1987, Tiwari even served as the External Affairs Minister under then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

He also served as the Andhra Pradesh Governor from 2007 to 2009.
