Four Janata Dal (Secular) members killed in Sri Lanka blasts, confirms Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy

Bangalore, Apr 22 (IBNS): Four Janata Dal (Secular) members lost their lives in the bomb blasts that rocked Sri Lanka on Sunday, confirmed Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy.

The CM said   Lakshmana Gowda Ramesh, KM Lakshminarayan, M Rangappa and KG Hanumantharayappa were touring Sri Lanka.

He said H Shivu Kumar, A Maregowda and H Puttaraju are missing.

The CM tweeted: "I am deeply pained at the loss of our people in the #colombo attacks. Out of the seven missing after the #TerrorAttack, four have been declared dead. Their names are - Lakshmana Gowda Ramesh
- K M Lakshminarayan - M Rangappa - KG Hanumantharayappa."

In another tweet, he informed: " The three others who are missing are H ShivuKumar,A Maregowda and H Puttaraju. The Chief Secretary’s office is in constant touch with the Resident Commissioner at Karnataka Bhavan, New Delhi, and the families of the victims and the missing persons for further information on them."

He said: "All victims were #JDS workers from Karnataka and were on a tour to #SriLanka. I am deeply pained at the loss of their lives in the heinous attack. They were also committed workers of our party and their death has brought immense sorrow to us."

Sri Lankan government has revealed the name of a group whom they are suspecting to be behind the eight serial blasts which rocked the nation on Sunday.

The eight blasts left 290 people killed and disrupted peace in the Island Nation which had once witnessed violence during the Civil Wars.

Sri Lankan Health Minister and the government spokesman Rajitha Senaratne on Monday addressed a press conference and said that a local outfit, which was identified as muslim radical group National Tawheed Jamath, is suspected to be behind the attacks.

"There may be international links to them," the Minister further said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far.

He said all suicide bombers, who were involved in the attacks, were suspected to be Sri Lankan nationals.

Police have arrested 24 people so far in connection with the blasts.
