Four persons arrested for killing rape accused in Assam’s Baksa

Guwahati, Jan 17 (IBNS): Police has arrested four persons for beating a man to death who allegedly raped a 5-year-old minor girl in Assam’s Baksa district on Thursday.

According to reports, the arrested persons picked up the deceased person identified as Dhan Bahadur Kamar who allegedly raped the minor girl at Bogorikhuti area under Tamulpur police station and attacked with sticks and bamboos.

Later, one among the accused persons informed the village headman about the incident and the village headman immediately rushed him to nearby hospital and also informed local police.

Dhan Bahadur Kamar succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Following the incident, Tamulpur police had arrested the accused persons identified as Ajit Barman, Pramod Barman, Bikram Boro and Pakhi Boro.

“Following the incident we have launched operation and arrested the accused four persons and they revealed that, they beating the man. The accused persons said that, the man had allegedly raped a five-year-old minor girl,” a police officer of Tamulpur police station said.
