Srinagar, June 23 (IBNS): At least four terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir district of Shopian on Sunday.

Mobile internet in the Shopian has been suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent rumours.

The official sources said that despite rain troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint CASO in village Daramdora, Keegam in Shopian early this morning.

However, when the security forces were moving towards a particular area in the village, militants hiding there opened fire with automatic weapons.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot, officials said.

Kashmir Police Zone tweeted: "#Shopian #encounter update: 04 #terrorists killed. #Arms & #ammunition recovered. #Identities & #affiliations are being ascertained. @JmuKmrPolice."
