G7: Narendra Modi calls bilateral meet with Canadian PM Justin Trudeau as 'fruitful'
Indian PM Narendra Modi on Monday had a 'fruitful' bilateral discussion with Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Schloss Elmau, Germany.
This was the first meeting between the two leaders in four years.
Following the discussion, Modi tweeted: "Reviewed the full range of India-Canada ties during the fruitful meeting with PMÂ @JustinTrudeau. There is immense scope to boost cooperation in sectors like trade, culture and agriculture."

A statement issued by the PMO India's office said: " As Leaders of robust democracies with shared values, they had a productive meeting in which they discussed India-Canada bilateral relations and agreed to further strengthen trade and economic linkages, cooperation in security and counter-terrorism, as well as people-to-people ties."
The two leaders also exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest.
During his visit, Modi also meet US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron, among others.
