The camp was organised on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar Muhammad Aijaz Asad by the District Handicrafts Office to sensitize and register the artisans on e-SHRAM Portal, a national database of unorganised workers.

On the occasion, over 100 people were registered on e-SHRAM Portal and 200 artists were provided with Artisan Cards.

Speaking about the programme, the Deputy Commissioner said that the initiative is a part of a public outreach programme to bring administration to the doorsteps of people particularly during the current “Good Governance Week”.
