Gorakhpur hospital tragedy: Suspended BRD Medical College Principal Rajiv Mishra arrested in Kanpur

Kanpur, Aug 29 (IBNS): The UP Special task Force has arrested ex-principal of BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur- Dr Rajiv Mishra and his wife Dr Purnima Shukla- in connection with the death of several infants in the hospital in a week, media reports said.

They were arrested  from Kanpur on Tuesday, reports said.

They were named in the FIR which was lodged by the government following the report by the Principal Secretary.

More than 70 infants died in the BRD Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur in a week.

Rajiv Mishra was suspended following the incident over charges of negligence.
