Gorakhpur train mishap: 14 killed, several injured

Gorakhpur, Oct 1 (IBNS): The death toll in the trains mishap near Gorakhpur city in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday left 14 people killed, officials said on Wednesday.

Several others were injured as Krishak Express collided with Barauni Express at around 10:45 pm.

The injured people were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Union Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda  tweeted: "I am deeply hurt by the Train accident in Gorakhpur , my deepest condolences for the families of 14 innocent people who lost their life."

Announcing actions, he said: "Its loco pilot's mistake ,who neglected the signal, The loco pilot has been suspended ,Strict action will be taken for negligence. I am personally monitoring the situation."
