Government blind to students' distress: Rahul Gandhi as he asks for NEET exam postponement

New Delhi/UNI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has demanded the postponement of the NEET 2021 exam, which is going to be held on September 12.

In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said, “GOI is blind to students’ distress. Postpone #NEET exam. Let them have a fair chance.

Gandhi's remarks came a day after the Supreme Court refused to postpone the UG NEET exam, saying that rescheduling the exam would be “very unfair” and the court does not want to interfere with the process.

The entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses, the NEET UG 2021, will be held on September 12. The admit card of all candidates, who have registered for the exam, will be released on September 9.

Candidates who had registered for NEET PG 2021 can now download forms from the official website of National board of examination from September 6.

In an official notification, the National Board of Examinations has said, “Admit Cards issued earlier for examination on 18th April 2021 shall be treated as “null & void”. Fresh admit cards shall be issued on NBEMS website on 6th September 2021."

The NEET PG 2021 was earlier scheduled to be held on April 18 but was later postponed to September 11 due to Covid-19 pandemic.

“Candidates shall be provided with a protective face shield, face mask and sanitizer sachets individually at test centres,” it said.
