Govt. hospital in Kolkata catches fire, no casualties reported

Kolkata, Aug 29 (IBNS): Two days after a blaze killed three lives in Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital, another major fire broke out in state-run Sambhunath Pandit Hospital in Kolkata on Monday, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first noticed around 11:45 am. on first floor of hospital building.

As many as 5 fire tender engines rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

After preliminary investigation, Fire and Emergency Services officials confirmed that the blaze might have started due to a short circuit in an air conditioning machine.

Earlier on Saturday, a massive fire broke out in a government-run hospital in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, killing at least three, including an infant, and leaving several others injured.
